Capitola Cliff Rescue
On a cold and rainy night, two young women decide to take a walk up the beach. When the tide rises unexpectedly, the teens become trapped on the cliffs. California.State Parks Lifeguards launch an inflatable rubber boat into the heavy seas where they find one, pull her off the cliff and through the treacherous ocean waters to the waiting rescue boat. The Coast Guard continues a search for her friend over the next three hours. The second young woman is found safe, the next morning, also stranded on a cliff about ½ mile north and airlifts her to safety. Both victims recover.
