Off-duty officer hurt in motorcycle mishap

BayNewsVideo provided breaking news video to local affiliates to assist with coverage of an incident involving an on-duty California Highway Patrol officer who was hurt after being hit by a car while riding his motorcycle Memorial evening in North San Diego County.

According to reports, officer Eric Flynn was driving north on North Douglas Drive in the right-hand turn lane when a Chevrolet Lumina driven by a Baja, Mexico man turned into the lane and sideswiped him.

The crash occurred at 10:05 p.m. near the intersection with Old River Road, CHP officer Mark Latulippe said.

Flynn had cuts on his hip and elbow.

An ambulance took him to Tri-City Medical Center where he was treated and released.
